Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [July 30, 2025]

by Nasia Davos

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m very excited to share with you this week’s new and most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community.

Let’s do it!

Inspiring Savings

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Janice Bell from California, US, celebrated 4 years smoke-free! Janice was a smoker for over 45 years and had tried everything to quit, mostly on her own.

When she found the CBQ Method, she had just been diagnosed with early-stage emphysema and after attending the free masterclass, Janice decided to join the program.

The result? 4 years later she’s still a happy non-smoker.

When Janice was asked “Was it worth investing in the program and not trying alone anymore?”, this is what she said:

“It was priceless when you consider your health!” She has saved over $11,000!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Chris Waltman from Wisconsin, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Chris smoked 1 to 2 packs a day for 35 years and tried quitting dozens of times. But he never stayed smoke-free for more than a month “because it was always a replacement method or just forcing myself to quit. A couple things happened in my life and I was ready to try again. I found the CBQ method online and it looked interesting! I didn’t have anything to lose, so I tried it. WOW!”

3 years after the CBQ Program, Chris has not had a single cigarette!

This is Chris with his CBQ Success Certificate:

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Leah Hackett from Ontario, Canada celebrated 2 years smoke-free. Leah wanted (and tried) to stop smoking for a long time, but never imagined it would be possible or easy! It was.

After attending the free CBQ webinar, Leah decided to join the CBQ Program. This is why:

2 years after her quit date, Leah is still a happy non-smoker and has not missed cigarettes – not even when socializing!

Happy “Spotlight Day”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

Two days ago, the inspiring CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Sarah Walters from England, UK, celebrated 4 years smoke-free. Sarah was a smoker for 26 years. For many of those years, she tried to quit multiple times with stop smoking approaches from nicotine gums and patches to hypnosis and everything in between. Nothing worked. After attending the free CBQ webinar, Sarah knew the CBQ Method could work for her and decided to join the CBQ Quit Smoking Program. She committed to the process with an open mind, did her best… and the rest is history!

Now, Sarah is saving over £2,000 every year she’s smoke-free. (Over 9k saved in total!)

Above all, she’s truly done with smoking. She has no cravings and even though her husband smokes, she’s not even triggered. That’s freedom!

This is what Sarah shared yesterday about her smoke-free life:

Inspiring Transformation

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member and musician Andre Burns from Ontario, Canada, celebrated 5 years smoke-free and marijuana-free! Andre started smoking when he was just 10 years old. It was at a time (1970s and 1980s) when they made it very easy to smoke.

As Andre told me during our Ask An Ex interview (highly recommend watching it!), his father used to smoke. And it was common practice back then for a parent to send their child to the corner store with money and a note to buy cigarettes on their behalf. As a curious boy, Andre wanted to try cigarettes and then started making his own permission notes. By the time he was 14 years old, he was a full-time smoker. Even though he rarely smoked more than 20 a day, he became very addicted to cigarettes, which eventually led to alcohol and weed dependencies.

After having tried everything (pills, patches, and other approaches) to stop smoking, weed, and alcohol, Andre found the CBQ Program and decided to give it a try. At first, his intention was to stop smoking with the CBQ Program. But after he went through the CBQ process, Andre changed his mind and ended up quitting smoking, alcohol, and weed! He’s incredible, right?

“June 14th, I quit drinking, July 12th, I quit smoking marijuana, and my quit date for smoking cigarettes was July 20th.”

That was 5 years ago!

As he said, “Everything that is part of the CBQ method. She has a course of videos that give you a step by step approach. I actually was given by a doctor all of the stop smoking aids but that involved taking pills everyday and dealing with side effects which I did not believe in. Then I came across Nasia’s program and have never been the same. An outstanding program that was exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend CBQ method to everyone!!!!!”

Inspiring Quit Smoking Benefits

CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Paddy Monaghan from Scotland, UK, celebrated 18 months smoke-free! And two days ago, he shared with our members group how his life changed after quitting smoking.

He shared, “Today marks 18 months since I binned the smokes — and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I used to go through a 50g pouch of rolling tobacco every week — around £30 a go — not just burning money but burning my health too.

But with the help of this group I made the change. I feel stronger, healthier, and more focused — not to mention the savings (aye, they’ve not gone unnoticed either If you’re thinking of quitting, I swear you can do it. Just don’t try to do it alone — get a quit buddy, someone to lean on when it gets tough.

Here’s to clean lungs, clear heads, and never smelling like an ashtray again.

Roll on 2 years smoke free!”

Inspiring Success – Quit Vaping

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Robin Sheffield from Texas, US, celebrated 3 years vape-free! Robin started smoking when she was 13 years old. Since then, she smoked for 41 years and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. In an attempt to quit, Robin turned to vaping, and got addicted for 7 years.

This is what Robin shared about her inspiring story:

“My quit date was July 17th 2022. I threw everything away before I went to bed on the 16th. I started smoking when I was 13 years old and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. After spending thousands on all sorts of ways to quit (acupuncture, patches, hypnosis, etc) I read this book that made me quit in 2015 (40 years later). Well, that lasted 3 days and I was ready to go buy some cigarettes. I remembered that I had a pen style vape and charged it up. I started vaping and never smoked another cig again. My doctor told me a couple of years ago that I may have the first stages of emphysema and I’ve been on inhalers since. I got covid pneumonia 1 1/2 years ago and the first thing they told me is that my lungs were fried. I was in ICU and almost died, but after getting out of the hospital (16 days later with no vaping) I tried to go without vaping but couldn’t. My brain was consumed with the thought of vaping and wouldn’t stop. So, 7 years of vaping, I really, really, wanted to quit and went thru your program for a 3rd time (I felt that the first 2 times were not helping me at all (I don’t think I was doing everything correctly)).”

Robin said: “So for 47 years, I was either a smoker or vaper, and now, I’m neither. It is definitely a mind thing, and the mind is a powerful thing. I AM TRULY FREE!”

Happy “Spotlight Day”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Story

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Angela Eng from Colorado, US, celebrated 1 year smoke-free! Angela was a sworn smoker for over 46 years. After trying everything to quit, from Chantix to hypnosis, she started believing nothing could ever work for her.

Then one day, she read a CBQ Quit Smoking Program success story and decided to give quitting one last try. After joining the program, she followed every daily step… and within two weeks, she had reprogrammed her mind and no longer wanted to smoke!

1 year later, Angela is still a happy non-smoker!

This is what she shared about her journey:

“I had been a smoker for 46+ years.  I had tried Chantix, patches, hypnosis but still was a smoker.  This is the first program that worked for me.  Retraining your brain to be nicotine free works.   I was stuck at day 3 for awhile but finally made up my mind and continued the program and it worked for me without any issues after that.  Whenever a craving thought came up I replaced it with a happy and healthy thought.  I highly recommend this program if you really want to be a nonsmoker.”

Inspiring Milestone

Yesterday CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Caroline Kipp from Germany celebrated 5 years smoke-free! At first, Caroline was hesitant to join the CBQ Program, but she knew she had to give herself a fair chance at success.

The result?

Her investment paid off in time, money, and above all… freedom.

“I was a bit hesitant to buy the program. To be honest I had just moved continents, no job and at the beginning of Covid. So money was tight. But I knew I had to take a chance. I had watched Nasia Davos videos and loved what she was offering for free.” … “What I loved about the program is that you’re not told to quit smoking on day one, you don’t use willpower, something I had used before and fell back into the trap. This is the longest I have been a non-smoker and cheers to many many many more years. I watched the videos and did the assignments and exercises. I am soooo happy now. I can breathe, I love the way my clothes smell, I workout without losing breath. I am happy!! Best decision I ever made was to take a chance.”

At her 5-year milestone, Caroline is still a happy non-smoker.

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Michelle Bevilacqua from South Carolina, US, who celebrated 1 year smoke-free this week.

Michelle is so proud of herself for conquering her 1-year milestone! She said:

“Thank you so very much!! I can’t believe it. I am so happy and proud of self. It’s CRAZY! Thank you for your program! It’s amazing”

Bonus Tip of the Week

This tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Krista Hillyer from Georgia, US, who celebrated 2 weeks smoke-free this week!

When asked “What did quitting smoking teach you?”, Krista said this:

Never be too proud to ask for help.

“To never be too “proud” or ashamed to ask for help in any kind of situation. Everything worth doing in life takes a village to accomplish. I’m grateful to Nasia for creating this incredible CBQ program and continuing to actively participate in each member’s journey, to the fantastic support staff members and to everyone in this village who helped me to become a happy non-smoker. Thank you all!”

Happy “Spotlight Day”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Donald Raymond from Michigan, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free.

Don was a smoker for 52 years and had tried everything to quit.

“I’d tried hypnosis (twice), Chantix (twice), acupuncture, cold turkey, the patch, gum, “on my own” (too numerous to count). All failed. After 52 years of smoking 1.5 pks./day, heavy smoking, “no one smokes like I do” smoking, I was almost resigned to the fact that I was doomed to never quit. And all the ugliness that results from that.”

Then, he found the CBQ Quit Smoking Program, what I shared resonated with him, and he decided to join.

The result? Lasting, powerful and liberating freedom!

This is his advice: “If YOU believe, and really want to, she makes it almost easy. Follow the program….really LISTEN to her….use the support available, and before you know it, you’re done and FREE of the evil things. Work at a pace for you. Absorb the whole program. Will be the best money you ever spent.”

On his 3-year milestone, Don is so secure in his quit he’s helping his friend quit also.

Inspiring Transformation

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Tim Roberts from Queensland, Australia, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! But Tim’s journey to success had lots of ups and downs.

During our Ask An Ex interview, Tim shared that he smoked his first cigarette when he was 14 years old and smoked on and off for over 50 years. Throughout life, he also became addicted to alcohol and food. He was, as he told me, a “perfectionist emotional cripple” and vices became his go-to coping mechanism. Even though Tim eventually quit alcohol, he could not let go of his cigarettes (a story I know many of you share).

But after joining the CBQ Program, Tim became a happy non-smoker. He didn’t gain any weight after quitting smoking… Instead, he lost 28kg (60 pounds)!

He looks amazing and feels even better. Look at his unbelievable transformation!

Tip Of The Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Dan DeVeronica from New York, US, who celebrated 4 years nicotine-free this week!

Dan’s tip: life does get better after quitting smoking.

This is what he recently shared about his smoke-free life:

Happy “Spotlight Day”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Sam Fallows from England, UK, celebrated 3 years smoke-free!

Sam was a smoker for 43 years and nothing had worked for her:

“I am 56 smoked since 13 had a few failed attempts … I chose to stop after completing the course, and I loved all the things CBQ did to help me approach and understand my smoking differently…finally I feel free, huge heartfelt thank you to Nasia and all at CBQ good luck to all who have or are grappling with this disgusting harmful expensive addiction…you can do it and take back control but you have to follow the programme. …no vaping no patches no nothing and I love it and learned so much about myself along the way.”

After completing the CBQ Quit Smoking Program, she broke free!

And her quit was an enjoyable experience!

3 years later, she’s still a happy non-smoker!

This is what Sam shared a couple of days ago about her 3-year milestone:

“That brought a big smile to my face, I had forgotten the day.

Still a happy non smoker and truly believe that’s it for me

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Shelley Leith from England, United Kingdom who has been smoke-free since November 30, 2021!

Shelley’s tip: Trust the process. You may surprise yourself

“You can do this, I smoked for over forty years, joined the program expecting to fail. I gave up on my first attempt, almost three years later I’m still smoke free. I honestly didn’t believe I would smoke my ceremonial last cigarette, and just stop, but I did….and so can you.”

Happy “Spotlight Day”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Program member Joy Aelbers from British Columbia, Canada, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Joy had been a smoker her entire life and spent 30 years actively trying to quit.

She discovered the CBQ Quit Smoking Program at 59. Despite her doubts and fears of failure, she took a leap of faith.

The result? She quit smoking and her life transformed. Now 3 years later, at 62, Joy feels healthier than ever. She’s taken up bike riding and even completed a 10K walk/run—things she never imagined doing before.

Here’s what Joy shared with me just a couple of days ago:

Inspiring Success

This week, Joe Wilson from England, UK, celebrated 4 years smoke-free! After smoking heavily for 25 years, Joe quit smoking on June 20, 2021, on Father’s Day.

He also wrote a goodbye letter during the CBQ Course, in the form of an amazing poem and listed all the reasons why he didn’t want tobacco in his life anymore.

Here it is:

Two fingers to the Toxic Trickster

Goodbye, good riddance

You’ve always been my go-to

When I need to take time out

To switch off, to relax with

To run away to and explore my doubts

Farewell, Adieu

You’ve always been a poisonous reward

A void in my routine

A sewer of escape to nowhere

But spiralling around in a cycle of despair

Ta-ra duck, I’m done

Cos you’re just not right

For me, at all, any more

I cannot keep going

back and forth with you

Szia, we’re over

I hate how I’ve had to plan

My day, my life around you

It’s distasteful how you’ve made

My mouth taste so monstrous

My gums gone infected

My teeth rotting in their sockets

I’ve been such a Muppet

But now I see the hold that you’ve held over me

The trick on my mind that I need you to exist

But I don’t, I never did

Two fingers to the toxic trickster

I’ve outgrown this toxic relationship, here it ends

I choose to be present, for my family and my friends

Clean lungs, full of energy, free to be me

No fear, no worries, an incredible future I can see

All you’ve ever brought me is trouble

I hate the regret

I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on

And be smoke-free again

As I was when I was born

I deserve for me to be free

A happy non-smoker

Now I’m putting myself first

I’ve dismantled you as a limiting belief

Your illusion’s totally burst

You have no power, over me, any more

So don’t call

Two fingers, to you, Toxic trickster

And that’s all

Sincerely, your ex

The authentic Joe says so

Thank you for sharing this, Joe!

Now Joe is living his best life!

This is what he shared with me about his current life as a non-smoker:

“Thanks to you and your programme I am still smoke-free, xx

A happy dad, partner, musician, director of SoMi Academy & MADULA and helping many people to express themselves through music.

Thank you for dedicating your life in the way you have”
