Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Ashley West Hilliard from Texas, US, celebrated 5 years smoke-free!

Ashley was terrified of quitting smoking. Even though she’d successfully become sober over a decade ago, quitting smoking was the one thing (she thought) she couldn’t do. Before an attempt, she would cry to her husband telling him how afraid she was. After joining the CBQ Program, she realized that there was nothing to be afraid of!

On her 2nd anniversary, Ashley said: “I truly NEVER thought I could quit smoking. When I say never, I really mean that. I started smoking before I was 10 years old (I am not sure of the exact age) and I smoked for 25 years, minus 2 pregnancies. I had all of the reasons why I couldn’t and didn’t want to quit but the CBQ method helped me see how false those beliefs were. I can truly say that I have not wanted to smoke since the day I quit.”

This is what Lisa shared this week: Prioritize your quit

“I smoked ,my last cig 127 days ago on April 8th. When i started the program i was not convinced i would ever quit or want to. but working the program every day, I smoked my last cigarette on day 8 but contuied the program all the way thru. I was amazed in the end how extremely easy it was to quit. I am 55 and have smoked since i was 16. Just clear your mind, set away two weeks, breath and just doue the program with no excuses. it does work!!!!”

Inspiring Transformation: Breaking a 61-Year Addiction

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Gary Brousell from Florida, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free, and he’s an inspiration!

Gary smoked his first cigarette when he was 13 years old and continued to smoke for the next 61 years, with many attempts to stop.

Gary said, “I suffer from Major depression and GAD. Being smokeless hasn’t made my conditions worse, nor would smoking make me better. Smoking needs to be seen as irrelevant to the human existence. Anyway, that’s how I see it now. Once an essential and controlling part of my life for 61 years, smoking is not going to help me or negatively effect my emotional conditions. DONE.”

Wise words!

Two years later, Gary is still a happy non-smoker.

This is what he shared three days ago with our community:

“Nasia Davos I have not smoked since 8/9/2023. You are marvelous and so glad you are now helping with food addiction. Your messages help in more ways than addiction. They are applicable to coping with the imperfections of our respective lives; personal, family and social. Congratulations to you Nasia for all that you do.”

Inspiring Milestone

Today, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Larry Johnson from Washington, US, is celebrating 5 years smoke-free…. after being a smoker for 50 years!

Larry said, “I tried many times to quit. I would quit for a few days or a week and then back to smoking. After going through the CBQ program something in my brain switched and I simply no longer needed to smoke.”

Just last month, Larry shared that he has saved nearly $19,000, has avoided 55,000 cigarettes and does not miss smoking AT ALL!

Inspiring Transformation

Today, CBQ Quit Smoking Program & CBQ Food Freedom Program member Bonnie Ferguson from Ontario, Canada, is celebrating 2 years smoke-free.

After quitting smoking, and with retirement coming up, Bonnie wanted to double down on her health and transform her life in every way. She had always been overweight and was worried that her weight wouldn’t allow her to live long enough to enjoy her retirement.

So when the last cohort of the CBQ Food Freedom Program opened, she joined. And like Bonnie said, it was a life-changing experience. She lost 23 pounds in 4 months without dieting or using willpower and has kept losing weight since then. Her waist has shrunk 4 and a half inches, she had to resize her rings, and the inflammation in her body has gone down.

This is what Bonnie shared:

“Hi everyone my name is Bonnie. I finished the Food Freedom program a couple of weeks ago. My story started out this way … I am 63 years old obese and was barely moving with so much inflammation and pain daily. Even getting my weekly groceries was a major chore. I knew I had to change but had no idea where to start. I was offered a place in Nasia’s “CBQ Food Freedom” program and although I was hesitant about investing the money I knew where my life was heading if I didn’t make some drastic changes (I honestly thought I probably wouldn’t make it to retirement) things were bad and only going to get worse – and I KNEW IT! I decided to jump in both feet all the way and have never looked back. The investment in the program was worth every penny in fact knowing what I know today it’s worth 10 x the amount paid. I didn’t follow everything to the letter the program is very easy to modify to suit all lifestyles. I can’t wait to say, “I was obese and barely moving but LOOK AT ME NOW!” I know it will happen like everything it takes time – I will get there! The camaraderie in our group was amazing we all cheered when anyone had a win and felt connected and could relate when someone was dealing with a struggle, we became a family of sorts. The amount of learning was remarkable, life changing and will last throughout the remainder of my life. I never felt deprived of anything during the entire course and even now I don’t feel deprived. I don’t feel like I am missing anything – 4 months ago I wouldn’t be able to say that. I learned that I could take care of myself eat real food and feel so much better. I also understood that what I was learning was easy to do and that regardless of my future I now know how to improve my wellbeing, health, mobility, overall outlook/mindset and in the long run extend my life and be able to once again enjoy myself while living. During the past 4 months I have lost 23 lbs. and look forward to losing even more. I know that I will continue to lose and feel better in the process. I have lost 1inch off my chest (didn’t have much to start lol), 4 inches off my waist and 4 ½ inches off my hips. My husband said today “it looks like you may be shopping for a new wardrobe soon” man did that ever make me feel like a million bucks!This is possible for anyone willing to believe in themselves and go for it! Like Nasia says “if you follow the program, you can not fail” it’s the truth! Food Freedom feels absolutely 100% amazing!”

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Drew Hallstrom from California, US, celebrated 5 years smoke-free! Drew was a smoker for over 20 years, and he could not imagine his life without cigarettes — waking up in the morning, winding down after a long day, or coping amid a crisis.

After reading success stories from members of the CBQ Quit Smoking Program, he slowly opened himself up to the possibility that life without cigarettes was possible. Then after attending the free masterclass, Drew decided to join the program.

He succeeded!

And 5 years later, Drew is still a happy non-smoker.

Drew’s tip: Take it one day at a time

“You can’t look to the future and what is ahead. You have to be present and defeat the day. Each day you conquer the closer you forget about the future because it will be in the past. Next thing you know it will be a week, 2 weeks, 1 month since your last one. So basically what I’m saying……one day at a time! You got this”

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Susan Vitko-McCrae from Ohio, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free!

Susan shared: “I was a pack a day smoker for 35 yrs with several failed attempts to quit. When my grandson was born I told myself “I can quit for him”. When he was 5 yrs old I was still smoking and would try to hide it from him. He would see me and question why I was smoking and constantly tell me that it was bad and that I would die before I was suppose to. I was ashamed and told him I would try to quit but needed help, so he made me a no smoking sign. I was determined to be smoke free by his 6th birthday so once again I searched for help and was lead to the CBQ program.

My goal was to quit on the 10th day of the program. The lessons are very informative, interesting and just the right length to keep my attention.”

“Day 10 of the program I had my last cigarette with a glass of wine while reading my letter. My brain was telling me I won’t be able to do it and I cried at the thought of failing again. These thoughts were replaced, because of the CBQ program, with thoughts of my grandson being proud of me.”

Susan shared a couple of days ago how happy she still is about her success!

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Shelton Mulkey from Louisiana, US, who just celebrated 8 months smoke-free. Shelton smoked a pack a day for more than 40 years and tried everything to quit — from Chantix and patches to gum and lozenges—but nothing worked. He had come to believe it was impossible to ever quit smoking.

Shelton’s tip: Even if you’re skeptical, trust the process.

“I was successful my 1st time. Although I was skeptical. I smoked though the program. I had smoked more than 40 years and Nasia showed me how to quit. It will be 8 months on Sunday. I realized that I had wanted to quit for a long time. There is plenty support here to help if you need it. The CBQ Team is fantastic.The program definitely works. Dive in and get started. You are going to be a happy non smoker.”

Inspiring Savings

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Janice Bell from California, US, celebrated 4 years smoke-free! Janice was a smoker for over 45 years and had tried everything to quit, mostly on her own.

When she found the CBQ Method, she had just been diagnosed with early-stage emphysema and after attending the free masterclass, Janice decided to join the program.

The result? 4 years later she’s still a happy non-smoker.

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Chris Waltman from Wisconsin, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Chris smoked 1 to 2 packs a day for 35 years and tried quitting dozens of times. But he never stayed smoke-free for more than a month “because it was always a replacement method or just forcing myself to quit. A couple things happened in my life and I was ready to try again. I found the CBQ method online and it looked interesting! I didn’t have anything to lose, so I tried it. WOW!”

3 years after the CBQ Program, Chris has not had a single cigarette!

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Leah Hackett from Ontario, Canada celebrated 2 years smoke-free. Leah wanted (and tried) to stop smoking for a long time, but never imagined it would be possible or easy! It was.

Inspiring Milestone

Two days ago, the inspiring CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Sarah Walters from England, UK, celebrated 4 years smoke-free. Sarah was a smoker for 26 years. For many of those years, she tried to quit multiple times with stop smoking approaches from nicotine gums and patches to hypnosis and everything in between. Nothing worked. After attending the free CBQ webinar, Sarah knew the CBQ Method could work for her and decided to join the CBQ Quit Smoking Program. She committed to the process with an open mind, did her best… and the rest is history!

Now, Sarah is saving over £2,000 every year she’s smoke-free. (Over 9k saved in total!)

Above all, she’s truly done with smoking. She has no cravings and even though her husband smokes, she’s not even triggered. That’s freedom!

Inspiring Transformation

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member and musician Andre Burns from Ontario, Canada, celebrated 5 years smoke-free and marijuana-free! Andre started smoking when he was just 10 years old. It was at a time (1970s and 1980s) when they made it very easy to smoke.

As Andre told me during our Ask An Ex interview (highly recommend watching it!), his father used to smoke. And it was common practice back then for a parent to send their child to the corner store with money and a note to buy cigarettes on their behalf. As a curious boy, Andre wanted to try cigarettes and then started making his own permission notes. By the time he was 14 years old, he was a full-time smoker. Even though he rarely smoked more than 20 a day, he became very addicted to cigarettes, which eventually led to alcohol and weed dependencies.

After having tried everything (pills, patches, and other approaches) to stop smoking, weed, and alcohol, Andre found the CBQ Program and decided to give it a try. At first, his intention was to stop smoking with the CBQ Program. But after he went through the CBQ process, Andre changed his mind and ended up quitting smoking, alcohol, and weed! He’s incredible, right?

“June 14th, I quit drinking, July 12th, I quit smoking marijuana, and my quit date for smoking cigarettes was July 20th.”

That was 5 years ago!

As he said, “Everything that is part of the CBQ method. She has a course of videos that give you a step by step approach. I actually was given by a doctor all of the stop smoking aids but that involved taking pills everyday and dealing with side effects which I did not believe in. Then I came across Nasia’s program and have never been the same. An outstanding program that was exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend CBQ method to everyone!!!!!”

Inspiring Quit Smoking Benefits

CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Paddy Monaghan from Scotland, UK, celebrated 18 months smoke-free! And two days ago, he shared with our members group how his life changed after quitting smoking.

He shared, “Today marks 18 months since I binned the smokes — and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I used to go through a 50g pouch of rolling tobacco every week — around £30 a go — not just burning money but burning my health too.

But with the help of this group I made the change. I feel stronger, healthier, and more focused — not to mention the savings (aye, they’ve not gone unnoticed either If you’re thinking of quitting, I swear you can do it. Just don’t try to do it alone — get a quit buddy, someone to lean on when it gets tough.

Here’s to clean lungs, clear heads, and never smelling like an ashtray again.

Inspiring Success – Quit Vaping

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Robin Sheffield from Texas, US, celebrated 3 years vape-free! Robin started smoking when she was 13 years old. Since then, she smoked for 41 years and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. In an attempt to quit, Robin turned to vaping, and got addicted for 7 years.

This is what Robin shared about her inspiring story:

“My quit date was July 17th 2022. I threw everything away before I went to bed on the 16th. I started smoking when I was 13 years old and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. After spending thousands on all sorts of ways to quit (acupuncture, patches, hypnosis, etc) I read this book that made me quit in 2015 (40 years later). Well, that lasted 3 days and I was ready to go buy some cigarettes. I remembered that I had a pen style vape and charged it up. I started vaping and never smoked another cig again. My doctor told me a couple of years ago that I may have the first stages of emphysema and I’ve been on inhalers since. I got covid pneumonia 1 1/2 years ago and the first thing they told me is that my lungs were fried. I was in ICU and almost died, but after getting out of the hospital (16 days later with no vaping) I tried to go without vaping but couldn’t. My brain was consumed with the thought of vaping and wouldn’t stop. So, 7 years of vaping, I really, really, wanted to quit and went thru your program for a 3rd time (I felt that the first 2 times were not helping me at all (I don’t think I was doing everything correctly)).”

Robin said: “So for 47 years, I was either a smoker or vaper, and now, I’m neither. It is definitely a mind thing, and the mind is a powerful thing. I AM TRULY FREE!”
