Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [July 31, 2024]

by Nasia Davos

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m very excited to share with you this week’s new and most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community.

Let’s do it!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Program member Chris Waltman from Wisconsin, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free! Chris smoked 1 to 2 packs a day for 35 years and tried quitting dozens of times. But he never stayed smoke-free for more than a month “because it was always a replacement method or just forcing myself to quit. A couple things happened in my life and I was ready to try again. I found the CBQ method online and it looked interesting! I didn’t have anything to lose, so I tried it. WOW!”

2 years after the CBQ Program, Chris has not had a single cigarette!

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Program member Leah Hackett from Ontario, Canada celebrated 1 year smoke-free. Leah wanted (and tried) to stop smoking for a long time, but never imagined it would be possible or easy! It was.

After attending the free CBQ webinar, Leah decided to join the CBQ Program. This is why:

1 year after her quit date, Leah is still a happy non-smoker and has not missed cigarettes – not even when socializing!

This is what Leah recently shared with the CBQ Method community:

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Amber McKinney from Texas, US, who quit vaping after 20 years on January 13, 2023. Amber recently shared an incredible tip on how to think about nicotine addiction:

You do not need nicotine, the addiction does.

“You can do this! The addiction in your body is trying to win. You get to decide who wins. Oxygen or poison? Take as much time as you need to re-wire your brain. You do not need nicotine, the addiction does.

I’ve been free over a year and it was the best decision of my life. Can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! You’ve got this!”

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m very excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community.

Let’s do it!

Inspiring Journey

Three days ago, the inspiring CBQ Program member Sarah Walters from England, UK, celebrated 3 years smoke-free. Sarah was a smoker for 26 years. For many of those years, she tried to quit multiple times with stop smoking approaches from nicotine gums and patches to hypnosis and everything in between. Nothing worked. After attending the free CBQ webinar, Sarah knew the CBQ Method could work for her and decided to join the CBQ Program. She committed to the process with an open mind, did her best… and the rest is history!

Now, Sarah is saving over £2,000 every year she’s smoke-free. (Over 9k saved in total!)

Above all, she’s truly done with smoking. She has no cravings and even though her husband smokes she’s not even triggered. That’s freedom!

This is what Sarah shared about her experience with the program:

Inspiring Transformation

This week, CBQ Program member and musician Andre Burns from Ontario, Canada, celebrated 4 years smoke-free and marijuana-free! Andre started smoking when he was just 10 years old. It was at a time (1970s and 1980s) when they made it very easy to smoke.

As Andre told me during our Ask An Ex interview (highly recommend watching it!), his father used to smoke. And it was common practice back then for a parent to send their child to the corner store with money and a note to buy cigarettes on their behalf. As a curious boy, Andre wanted to try cigarettes and then started making his own permission notes. By the time he was 14 years old, he was a full time smoker. Even though he rarely smoked more than 20 a day, he became very addicted to cigarettes, which eventually led to alcohol and weed dependencies.

After having tried everything (pills, patches, and other approaches) to stop smoking, weed, and alcohol, Andre found the CBQ Program and decided to give it a try. At first, his intention was to stop smoking with the CBQ Program. But after he went through the CBQ process, Andre changed his mind and ended up quitting smoking, alcohol and weed! He’s incredible, right?

“June 14th, I quit drinking, July 12th, I quit smoking marijuana, and my quit date for smoking cigarettes was July 20th.”

That was 4 years ago!

As he said, “Everything that is part of the CBQ method. She has a course of videos that give you a step by step approach. I actually was given by a doctor all of the stop smoking aids but that involved taking pills everyday and dealing with side effects which I did not believe in. Then I came across Nasia’s program and have never been the same. An outstanding program that was exactly what I was looking for. I would recommend CBQ method to everyone!!!!!”

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Dixie Taylor who quit smoking on August 15, 2022! Dixie never believed she could quit smoking without missing it, yet that’s exactly what she accomplished.

This is Dixie’s excellent quit smoking tip: Your doubts are from your craving mind, put them aside and trust the process.

“If you keep doing exactly what you are supposed to do in Nasia’s program, you will have success. Trust the process and do the work. All these thoughts are from an addicted mind. The other side of this, the freedom, is so close. Congratulations in doing this for yourself!

Dixie (smoke free for two years this August)”

Happy “Spotlight Day”! Let’s spread some inspiration with this week’s most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community!

Inspiring Milestone

Two days ago, CBQ Program member Caroline Kipp from Germany celebrated 4 years smoke-free! At first, Caroline was hesitant to join the CBQ Program, but she knew she had to give herself a fair chance at success. It paid off!

“I was a bit hesitant to buy the program. To be honest I had just moved continents, no job and at the beginning of Covid. So money was tight.

But I knew I had to take a chance. I had watched Nasia Davos videos and loved what she was offering for free.” …

“What I loved about the program is that you’re not told to quit smoking on day one, you don’t use willpower, something I had used before and fell back into the trap. This is the longest I have been a non-smoker and cheers to many many many more years. I watched the videos and did the assignments and exercises. I am soooo happy now. I can breathe, I love the way my clothes smell, I workout without losing breath. I am happy!! Best decision I ever made was to take a chance.”

At her 4-year milestone, Caroline is still a happy non-smoker.

Inspiring Success

Today CBQ Program member Robin Sheffield from Texas, US, is celebrating 2 years vape-free! Robin started smoking when she was 13 years old. Since then, she smoked for 41 years and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. In an attempt to quit, Robin turned to vaping, and got addicted for 7 years.

This is what Robin shared about her inspiring story:

“My quit date was July 17th 2022. I threw everything away before I went to bed on the 16th. I started smoking when I was 13 years old and got up to 2 1/2 to 3 packs a day. After spending thousands on all sorts of ways to quit (acupuncture, patches, hypnosis, etc) I read this book that made me quit in 2015 (40 years later). Well, that lasted 3 days and I was ready to go buy some cigarettes. I remembered that I had a pen style vape and charged it up. I started vaping and never smoked another cig again. My doctor told me a couple of years ago that I may have the first stages of emphysema and I’ve been on inhalers since. I got covid pneumonia 1 1/2 years ago and the first thing they told me is that my lungs were fried. I was in ICU and almost died, but after getting out of the hospital (16 days later with no vaping) I tried to go without vaping but couldn’t. My brain was consumed with the thought of vaping and wouldn’t stop. So, 7 years of vaping, I really, really, wanted to quit and went thru your program for a 3rd time (I felt that the first 2 times were not helping me at all (I don’t think I was doing everything correctly)).”

Robin said:

“So for 47 years, I was either a smoker or vaper, and now, I’m neither. It is definitely a mind thing, and the mind is a powerful thing. I AM TRULY FREE!”

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Jerry Landon from Tennessee, US, who quit smoking on May 12, 2024!

Jerry’s tip: Don’t say, “I was born to be a non-smoker” or “I want to be a non-smoker” because a non-smoker is who you already are.

I would drop the “to be” …. I was born smoke-free. It is my natural state. Thanks to the program, I’m back to my natural state!

Happy “Spotlight Day”! Today, I’m very excited to share with you this week’s new and most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

4 days ago, CBQ Program member Donald Raymond from Michigan, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free. This is Don’s story: “I’d tried hypnosis (twice), Chantix (twice), acupuncture, cold turkey, the patch, gum, “on my own” (too numerous to count). All failed. After 52 years of smoking 1.5 pks./day, heavy smoking, “no one smokes like I do” smoking, I was almost resigned to the fact that I was doomed to never quit. And all the ugliness that results from that. UNTIL Nasia Davos, and her program, became aware to me. If YOU believe, and really want to, she makes it almost easy. Follow the program….really LISTEN to her….use the support available, and before you know it, you’re done and FREE of the evil things. Work at a pace for you. Absorb the whole program. Will be the best money you ever spent.”

On his 2-year milestone, Don still has no thoughts of ever going back!

Tip Of The Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Marilou from Arizona, US, who’s been a happy non-smoker since June 22, 2021… That’s over 3 years!

Marilou’s tip is wise and simple: Smoking won’t change a thing.

“This is the longest I’ve ever quit, I owe it to CBQ. Do you know what I learned here? I learned having that cigarette doesn’t change a dog gone thing, it only made me feel worse than I already did. On this journey, remember you are in control, you control your emotions, what ever you are feeling that drives you to that cigarette, remember this 1 thing, “smoking is not going to change it”. Have your cry, have your moment of sadness, have your moment of anxiety, just have your moment without a cigarette. The first time you get through that moment, like that, you will be so proud of yourself, the euphoria it brings its life-changing. good luck, you can do it.”

Inspiring Transformation

Two days ago, CBQ Program member Tim Roberts from Queensland, Australia, celebrated 2 years smoke-free! But Tim’s journey to success had lots of ups and downs.

During our recent Ask An Ex interview, Tim shared that he smoked his first cigarette when he was 14 years old and smoked on and off for over 50 years. Throughout life, he also became addicted to alcohol and food. He was, as he told me a “perfectionist emotional cripple” and vices became his go-to coping mechanism. Even though Tim eventually quit alcohol, he could not let go of his cigarettes (a story I know many of you share).

But after joining the CBQ Program, Tim became a happy non-smoker. Tim also shared with our members that he used the CBQ Program to also change his relationship with food, and lost 28kg (60 pounds)!

He looks amazing and feels even better. Look at his unbelievable transformation!

Inspiring Milestone

Two days ago, CBQ Program member Merilee Emling from Ohio, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Merilee used to smoke a pack and a half a day for over 45 years. While searching online for ways to quit, she came across the CBQ Program, and after more in depth research she decided to join… and it was so worth it!

Merilee said “on the 10th day I was happy to throw my smokes out. Thank you! I Amazing results with your program.” Over 2 years after quitting smoking, she bought an RV with the money she saved!

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Larry Johnson from Washington, US, who smoked for 50 years and quit in August 13, 2020…almost 4 years ago!

Larry shared with the CBQ Community that he’s never going back to smoking. And for the early days of your quit, Larry’s tip is simple: laugh at your cravings.

“Congratulations on making it this long. I knew it was my brain playing tricks on me when it happened to me. I actually laughed at the cravings. What was in the rear view mirror was going to stay there I was not going back. You can do it too.”

Inspiring Transformation

This week, CBQ Program member Mila Di Bella from Amsterdam, Netherlands celebrated 6 months smoke-free! Mila had tried to quit smoking many times. After attending the CBQ webinar, she realized what was missing from all her past attempts: preparation!

A brilliant insight!

After committing to the process of the CBQ Program, Mila was able to properly prepare for her smoke-free life. The result? She not only succeeded, she flourished!

43 days after her quit date, Mila felt empowered!

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m very excited to share with you this week’s new and most inspiring success stories (and tips) from the CBQ community.

Let’s do it!

Inspiring Journey

CBQ Program member Debra Matzen from Wisconsin, US, celebrated 1 year smoke-free this week, and she had an incredible transformation!

At first, Debra was skeptical that anything would actually work for her, since she was smoking for 55 years. When she heard people saying if they could quit anyone could, her silent response was “sure”. (And she’s not alone!)

This is what Debra shared within a week of her quit…. Scroll all the way down to see what she said 1 year later.

….1 year later…

THIS was Debra’s email this week!

“Thank you so much! Quitting is something I never thought I could do.  I was pretty enslaved to cigarettes and actually panicked if I couldn’t have one.  I think I would still be smoking today if it weren’t for your program.  Who’d have thought that changing your mind could change your life in so many ways?”

1 year later, CBQ Program member Debra Matzen is still smoke-free

Inspiring Milestone

This week, Joe Wilson from England, UK celebrated 3 years smoke-free! After smoking heavily for 25 years, Joe quit smoking on June 20, 2021, on Father’s Day. He also wrote a goodbye letter during the CBQ Course, in the form of an amazing poem and listed all the reasons why he didn’t want tobacco in his life any more.

Here it is:

Two fingers to the Toxic Trickster
Goodbye, good riddance
You’ve always been my go-to
When I need to take time out
To switch off, to relax with
To run away to and explore my doubts
Farewell, Adieu

You’ve always been a poisonous reward
A void in my routine
A sewer of escape to nowhere
But spiralling around in a cycle of despair
Ta-ra duck, I’m done
Cos you’re just not right
For me, at all, any more
I cannot keep going
back and forth with you

Szia, we’re over
I hate how I’ve had to plan
My day, my life around you
It’s distasteful how you’ve made
My mouth taste so monstrous
My gums gone infected
My teeth rotting in their sockets
I’ve been such a Muppet

But now I see the hold that you’ve held over me
The trick on my mind that I need you to exist
But I don’t, I never did
Two fingers to the toxic trickster
I’ve outgrown this toxic relationship, here it ends
I choose to be present, for my family and my friends
Clean lungs, full of energy, free to be me
No fear, no worries, an incredible future I can see
All you’ve ever brought me is trouble

I hate the regret
I’ve decided it’s time for me to move onAnd be smoke-free again
As I was when I was born
I deserve for me to be free
A happy non-smoker
Now I’m putting myself first
I’ve dismantled you as a limiting belief
Your illusion’s totally burst
You have no power, over me, any more
So don’t call
Two fingers, to you, Toxic trickster
And that’s all
Sincerely, your ex
The authentic Joe says so

Thank you for sharing this, Joe!

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from our wonderful CBQ Program member Louise McAdam from Dublin, Ireland who celebrated 5 months smoke-free and beat cancer! She’s an absolute inspiration.

Louise’s tip: Let your craving thoughts float by.

What has worked best for me is just letting any craving thoughts float away like clouds in the sky. From the day I made my decision to quit during the CBQ Method to Quit Smoking program I never interacted with a craving thought again. As soon as one came I would say to myself or out loud, no thank you, float on by. I replaced my smoking habit with deep breaths and this has worked wonders for me too. Best of luck Kirsty, I truly hope you gain your freedom soon, once you do you will never want to return to smoking again.

As always, I want to say a big thank you to our amazing CBQ Program members who have given me permission to share their stories!
