CBQ Spotlights

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [December 11, 2024]

by Nasia Davos

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m excited to share with you this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community!

Let’s dive in.

Inspiring Success

CBQ Program member Carolyn Fares from California, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free and celebrated her 60th birthday!

Carolyn used to consider herself a “professional quitter” (after trying everything from gums to Chantix), and even though she could quit smoking, she always felt miserable without cigarettes and ended up relapsing. As you know, every relapse comes with lots of disappointment and frustration, and it’s hard to try to quit again. But after Carolyn discovered the CBQ Program, she decided to try one last time.

This is what happened:

“This program is truly life changing. I don’t even think about cigarettes at all anymore. It’s crazy!!”

“Quitting gives you the keys to a new life. No more waking myself up in the middle of every night telling myself I’m a failure. Instead quitting has given me so much self confidence to do many things. I am also so much happier about life (the program teaches us to have gratitude and choose to look at things positively). It’s a mindset reset. I live in the present. I can mentally focus better on tasks. Physically, I can breathe better. I bought an exercise bike, I go for walks. There are things I can’t do but that’s okay because there’s lots I can. I am a much happier and positive person now.”

And this is what she shared about her 2-year milestone:

Inspiring Milestone

CBQ Program member Blatnaid Gallagher from Dublin, Ireland, celebrated 7 years smoke-free!

Blatnaid was a smoker for over 30 years and loved cigarettes. This is what she previously shared on the CBQ Method Success Page (You can also watch her Ask An Ex interview here)

“I LOVED to smoke especially when having a drink with friends. It was part of me, part of my fun, my escape, my friend, my go to release… I tried nicotine patches, nicotine gum, Zyban, Champix, Cold turkey and vaping. NOTHING eased the pain, the loss, anxiety and the horrible feeling I got during the process of quitting. OH YES!!! I almost forgot, I also tried hypnotherapy and I joined a QUIT line support group. Every time I quit, I began grieving for my cigarettes.”

After waking up one day with a throat like “sandpaper,” she decided to join the CBQ Program and make a change.

“That was in 2017 and guess what… I am a NON SMOKING, life loving, HAPPY and I mean very HAPPY lady. I used the CBQ Method and by day 10, I was so excited about getting my life back.”

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Leah Himbeault from Alberta, Canada, who has been smoke-free since August 29, 2024. In less than 3 months, Leah has already saved over $900.

This is what Leah shared with the CBQ Method Facebook group:

“Honestly just start!! Do each day and redo each day if you have to. Take as long as you need to make it stick!!

The program will honestly take care of the rest. Work the program for the full 12 days. It works!! I did it and felt terrified.

Good luck!”

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [December 4, 2024]

by Nasia Davos

Happy “Spotlight Day”! December is finally here, and I’m excited to share with you this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Program member Kay Cooney from Massachusetts, US, celebrated 5 years smoke-free! For the longest time, Kay used to put “quit smoking” in her New Year’s Resolutions every single year. And every year, she ended up failing, and she hated that. After discovering the CBQ Program on Facebook and doing her research, she decided to join and she quit smoking on December 1st, 2019!

Kay said “Now I don’t cough, I don’t stink, my skin looks so good. I don’t stand outside while family is inside. I dont miss out on things because I chose to go smoke. Food tastes better and honestly- I am far less afraid of getting the flu/virus/cold because my lungs have bounced back and I can handle it.”

You can watch Kay sharing her story and tips on this Ask An Ex episode. Her story and charisma are beyond inspiring!

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Program member Linda Edlund from Pennsylvania, US, celebrated 1 year smoke-free!

In her own words Linda shared “The program is amazing and it DOES work! I smoked for 50 years before finding the CBQ Method. My top tip is to believe that this WILL WORK for you – never doubt that. Next, DO ALL of the exercises and watch every video – repeat a day if you need to (progress, not perfection!). It’s a lot of work – DO IT!! Everything in the program is designed to get you to your goal of being a happy non-smoker. The freedom is worth it – YES, YOU CAN!”

Reflecting on her 1 year milestone, Linda said in our program group:

“Nasia Davos Thank you! Couldn’t have done it without you and the CBQ Method!! Also love the encouragement from this group”

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I’m excited to share with you this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community!

Inspiring Benefits

This week, CBQ Program member Paddy Monaghan from Scotland, United Kingdom, shared with our program members group that he’s 10 months smoke-free! After many failed attempts and struggles to quit, Paddy decided to join the CBQ Program. The 9th day of the program was his most important day – that’s when he knew he’d never smoke again. On the 10th day, he smoked his last cigarette and found quitting smoking “very easy”.

Since breaking free, his and his family’s lives have transformed, plus he has saved £1,838 (over $2000)!

Inspiring Milestone – Quit Vaping

Two days ago, CBQ Program member Stan Spadoni from Ontario, Canada celebrated 1 year vape-free! This is Stan’s story as he shared it on the CBQ Success Page:

“After 20+years of first smoking and then vaping, I had my ‘good bye’ vape on day 10 [November 25, 2023]. I had attempted to quit numerous times, but could not make it more than a couple weeks. Nasia’s team through the CBQ method prepared me like I could have never dreamt of. I felt so different and so ready as I worked through the program, similar like training to run a marathon. I now feel very proud and very free. This was something I was not sure was possible. Surprisingly, I have not been thinking about smoking hardly at all. I have developed this craving buster with my 4-year old daughter…… In one of Nasia’s videos we discussed coming up with a Mantra or slogan or something along those lines…. So, when I have a craving I will tell my daughter and together we will say, “NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!” and then we growl like a bear….:) It has been great to be able to chat with team members through this journey so far. Thanks for being here.”

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip was shared on our free support group, and comes from CBQ Program member Leah Himbeault, who has been smoke-free since August 29, 2024.

Leah said: “I never considered myself a hardcore smoker. Ha ha ha when I reached 10+ smokes a day I realized I was now hardcore”. And for finding the CBQ Program, she said, “I didn’t just come across CBQ by accident. It was meant to be. This program is so amazing and not only helped me become a happy non-Smoker but a happier human.”

Leah’s Tip: Commit!

“I committed to the program after the free webinar. Small price to pay for freedom! I am still so amazed at how well the whole program works. But…… you have to work the program people!! No short cuts, no miracles, no magic pill. Do the work and the magic happens!! Thank CBQ and Nasia Davos! Amazing amazing program!!”

Happy “Spotlight Day”! Get ready to feel inspired with this week’s most empowering stories and tips from the CBQ community!

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Paula Beck Ashley from California, US, who has been smoke-free for 8 months. Paula used to smoke for 50 years! She decided to detox nicotine “cold turkey”, and by following the CBQ Method she now does not miss smoking at all!

This is what Paula recently shared with our free CBQ Method group:

Paula’s tip: The secret is mindpower, not willpower.

“Start watching the videos from CBQ Method. I am now a Happy Non Smoker for 8 months. I don’t miss smoking at all! It’s as easy, or as hard to quit, as you make it. You need to use mind power instead of will power. Good luck and reach out to this group as needed. We are here to support each other.”

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Program member Cheryl Ammar from Alberta, Canada, celebrated 2 years smoke-free! For the longest time, Cheryl believed she could not quit or be happy without cigarettes. But after joining the CBQ Program, she quit smoking easily!

Not only she succeeded, but she inspired her two daughters who both quit vaping!

“I’m proud to be one of CBQ’s success stories and can’t tell enough smokers how easy it is to quit with this program! I was also a shadow believer that I could never quit, was not strong enough, smart enough or couldn’t be happy without smoking. But I kept progressing through the program and little by little my subconscious was transformed to BELIEVE that I COULD quit! All of a sudden I started to focus on my life after I quit, and wanted to start that life more than I wanted to smoke poisonous cigarettes! It is a process but keep going and it is much, much easier than anyone believes you can do it!!”

Happy “Spotlight Day”! I think you’ll love this week’s most inspiring stories from the CBQ community!

Inspiring Couple

This week, Carson and Chris Lammers from Tennessee, US, celebrated together 1 year smoke-free! Carson and Chris had been smoking all their lives, and cigarettes had become a part of their relationship: the time they shared and the conversations they had. Carson and Chris were both unhappy about being smokers, yet they couldn’t quit. They “made some weak attempts over the years to quit, once with vaping and several times with willpower, but we always relapsed.” One day, Carson and Chris found the CBQ webinar, and despite being afraid and skeptical, they decided to join the CBQ Program. They succeeded, and one year later, they’re still smoke-free and happy!

This is Carson and Chris with their CBQ success certificates, that they took during their anniversary trip to St. Lucia in the Caribbean.

Carson shares, “I like to call my picture “Put the Mountain Behind You,” because that’s what it felt like to conquer my addiction.” 🎊

Carson’s quit smoking tip: make a real decision.

“In the CBQ Program, I made a decision as part of the teaching instruction. That led to me being able to quit smoking, and I gained newfound confidence because I had actually done what I decided to do. The “make a decision” technique has helped me so much in other areas of my life besides smoking. We are forever grateful! Carson and Chris”

Inspiring Milestone: 6 Years

Two days ago, CBQ Program member Elinor Fibel from South Carolina, US, celebrated 6 years smoke-free! Elinor used to smoke 2 and a half packs a day for 55 years. She tried all stop smoking approaches – pills, nicotine gum, hypnosis and pure willpower – more than once.

After coming across the CBQ Program online, she thought it was something different and decided to join and give it her all….She succeeded!

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [November 7, 2024]

by Nasia Davos

Happy “Spotlight Day”! This is the first Thursday of November, and I’m excited to share with you this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Inspiring Story

A few days ago, CBQ Program member Sarah Tawil-Bou Saleh from New York, US, posted this update in our members community:

She’s 4 years smoke-free!

Sarah’s first dream was to quit smoking and gift herself a bright smile. Her second dream was to help her mom quit smoking as well. Both of her dreams came true!

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Program member Debra Arena from Pennsylvania, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free. Debra was an avid smoker for 30 years and tried every approach to quit. For years, every one of her quit smoking attempts ended in panic and failure.

But after completing the CBQ Program, Debra quit and found it easy.

Debra Arena shares her experience after attending a CBQ Webinar

To this day, 3 years later, Debra still has no desire to smoke!

Tip of the Week: How to think about Mindpower

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Michal Sturgess from New South Wales, Australia, who has been smoke-free since September 27, 2022.

Michal explains one of the key and coined CBQ Method concepts: mindpower

“I think of mind power as the observer. Think of your habitual brain like a small child and observe its behaviour. Don’t jump ahead in the program, take your time with it and trust the process. When it comes to using mindpower think of it like interacting with a small child, you are not being unkind to that part of yourself or its perception of needs, you are listening and helping to guide it to behaviour that is better serving. “Oh your feeling bored/ frustrated/ stressed etc? Let’s go for a walk/ call a friend/ look up a new recipe etc instead” rinse and repeat until you find better behaviours that serve your wants/ needs and the responses stick.

This is why really studying your smoking prompts is important, it helps you understand the root need that wants to be addressed and sets the groundwork for the next stage.

Live the process, you need to recondition your brain which is going to be really difficult if you don’t immerse yourself in the process.”

As always, I want to say a huge thank you to our amazing CBQ Program members who have given me permission to share their stories!
