Happy “Spotlight Day”!
In this week’s spotlight, you’ll find some of the most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community to help you on your journey.
Let’s dive in!
Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Darnelle Hurd from Michigan, US, celebrated 5 years smoke-free!
Darnelle smoked for 50 years. Although she wasn’t a heavy smoker, she felt embarrassed and ashamed of smoking. When she turned 65, she began reflecting on her health and the life she wanted moving forward. She knew it was time to leave smoking behind for good.
While looking for quit smoking solutions, Darnelle attended the CBQ Masterclass. After the masterclass, she felt ready to take the next step and joined the CBQ Program.
While Darnelle had planned to quit on Day 10 of the program, she felt ready to quit a day earlier, and she did! She destroyed all her cigarettes and hasn’t smoked since.
At her 3-year milestone, Darnelle shared she’s had zero desire to smoke:

5 years later, Darnelle is still a happy non-smoker! She recently shared with me that she’s been focusing on taking care of her body and living a healthier life through regular exercise and healthy eating.

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Pauline Westfield from England, UK, celebrated 7 years smoke-free! When she first joined the CBQ Program, Pauline was not at all excited to say goodbye to her cigarettes. She enjoyed smoking a lot, but after smoking for over 40 years up to 30 a day, she felt she had to quit, or at least try.
Despite being skeptical, Pauline did every exercise and every step outlined in the CBQ Program. By day 5 of the program, she felt excited to quit. By day 8, she couldn’t wait! She smoked her last cigarette.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Pauline as part of CBQ’s Ask An Ex series. You can watch Pauline sharing her story of how she quit smoking with the Cognitive Behavioral Quitting (CBQ) Program:

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Ussal Smithers from England, UK, celebrated 3 years smoke-free!
Ussal had a goal: to be a non-smoker by the time she turned 50.
She made a few attempts to quit in the past, but none lasted. Still, she didn’t give up on her goal and continued looking for a way to quit smoking for good. When she read the success stories of the CBQ Program, she thought it could also work for her, so she decided to join.
Ussal went through the program at her own pace, and did the steps even while on holiday with her family. She stayed focused on her goal and quit just few days before her 50th birthday!
Now, 3 years later, Ussal is still a happy non-smoker and loving it. This is what she shared six days ago with our Program Members Community:

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Craig Jorgensen from Oklahoma, US, celebrated 4 years smoke-free!
Craig smoked for over 50 years and had tried to quit many times. Even after experiencing a heart attack, the added pressure made quitting even harder. But when he found the CBQ Program, the approach made sense to him because it targeted the mental and behavioral dependence, not just the physical.
For the duration of the program, he followed every step and on day 10 of the program, he smoked his last cigarette.
Two years after quitting, Craig shared how rewarding it felt to be smoke free:

4 years later, Craig is still a happy non-smoker! In his recent update, he shared that his breathing and blood pressure have improved too!

Inspiring Quit Smoking Benefits
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Gary Richmond from Michigan, US, celebrated 5 years smoke-free. While interviewing Gary, he told me he smoked his first cigarette when he was just 13 years old and smoked for 33 years up to 2 packs a day. He tried cold turkey, patches, and even switched to vaping but always went back to smoking.
After coming across the CBQ Method, Gary decided to join the CBQ Program and give it a try. To his surprise, by day 10 of the program he could not smoke more than 2 cigarettes. He quit!
3 years into his smoke-free life, Gary shared how much he had saved by not smoking and how he had been using that money to reward himself.

5 years later, Gary is still a happy non-smoker!
You can watch Gary share his inspiring story in this Ask An Ex episode:
