Happy “Spotlight Wednesday”!
It’s the first Wednesday of the month, and we’re excited to share the most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community to help you and inspire you on your journey.
Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Drew Hallstrom from California, US, celebrated 6 years smoke-free! Drew was a smoker for over 20 years, and he could not imagine his life without cigarettes — waking up in the morning, winding down after a long day, or coping amid a crisis.
After reading success stories from members of the CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program, he slowly opened himself up to the possibility that life without cigarettes was possible. Then after attending the free masterclass, Drew decided to join the program. He completed the 12-day process, smoked his last cigarette, and has been free ever since!
Drew’s tip: Take it one day at a time and trust the process
“You can’t look to the future and what is ahead. You have to be present and defeat the day. Each day you conquer the closer you forget about the future because it will be in the past. Next thing you know it will be a week, 2 weeks, 1 month since your last one. So basically what I’m saying……one day at a time! You got this”

And 6 years later, Drew is still a happy non-smoker. This is Drew with his CBQ Success Certificate:

Inspiring Success – Quit Vaping
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Christine Olsen from Florida, United States, celebrated 2 years vape-free!
Christine had smoked and vaped for 57 years. After being treated for lung cancer and going into remission, she found herself vaping more and more. That was when she realized nicotine still had a powerful hold on her.
Determined to break free, Christine joined the CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program. She gave herself about 15 days to complete the program and showed up every day to do the homework, write, and reflect. By the end of the program, she quit.
Few months after Christine quit, she shared the relief she felt in just a few words: “It’s over and I’m so happy.”

2 years later, Christine is still a happy non-vaper. This is Christine with her CBQ Success Certificate:

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Gabrielle Ausden from Western Australia celebrated 1 year smoke-free!
For 45 years, Gabrielle loved smoking and didn’t even want to quit. For her, smoking a cigarette in one hand and having a glass of wine on the other equalled enjoyment.
Her desire to quit grew slowly when she wanted to release the control smoking had on her life. She searched online for ways to quit and came across the CBQ Method. Curious to learn more, she signed up for a free CBQ Masterclass. After attending it, she felt the program was the right fit for her and decided to join the CBQ Program.
As Gabrielle worked through the program, she broke her habit and disconnected smoking from social situations. She also began to see how much smoking had shaped her life without her fully realizing it. It influenced where she socialized and how she planned holidays. In her own words, “The CBQ Method opened my eyes to the insidious control cigarettes had over my life. I cannot unsee it.”
After Gabrielle completed the program, she quit smoking! This is what she shared about her journey:

1 year later, Gabrielle cannot imagine lighting up ever again. This is what she shared recently:

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Marie Murphy from Delaware, United States, celebrated 5 years smoke-free!
Marie smoked for 29 years after starting at just 12 years old. She never believed quitting smoking would be possible after struggling through so many unsuccessful attempts on her own. After joining the CBQ Program, working through the lessons, and completing it, she quit!
When Marie celebrated 3 years smoke-free, she shared that she no longer remembered what it was like to be a smoker. She doesn’t miss smoking, isn’t tempted even though her husband still smokes, and says she finally feels free from cravings.
This is what Marie shared about her journey:

5 years later, Marie is still a happy non-smoker!
Inspiring Success
This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Susan Vitko-McCrae from Ohio, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free!
Susan smoked for 35 years and had made several unsuccessful attempts to quit. When her grandson was born, she told herself, “I can quit for him.” But she was still smoking when he turned five years old and felt ashamed whenever he asked about it. Wanting to help, he even made her a “No Smoking” sign.
While searching for help, Susan came across the CBQ Method. Her goal was to quit on Day 10 of the program. Although she felt ready, she was afraid of failing again. Then she replaced that fear with the thought of making her grandson proud. She quit on Day 10 and has been smoke-free ever since.
3 years later, Susan is still a happy non-smoker. This is what she shared recently:
