Happy “Spotlight Day”!
Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.
Let’s dive in!
Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Program member Deborah Lemmer from Colorado, US, celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Deborah quit smoking just before turning 60 years old, and changing her mindset was the key to success.
She was skeptical about investing in something online (which makes so much sense especially in today’s world!) but she knew she can trust the CBQ, took a leap of faith, and she’s now free!
Three years ago, Deborah did not believe she could live without cigarettes. Now, she says, “I marvel at how easy it really was.”
Deborah’s tips and what she learned from the CBQ Program
- You don’t need a special date to quit smoking. Your quit date will become special once you succeed.
- How to face challenges as a non-smoker and find it easy: Remember your thoughts trick your emotions into feeling you’re missing something, but you can change those thought patterns.
- If smoking does not align with your values and what’s important to you in life, then what’s holding you back is the limiting belief you can’t do it.
- Every area in your life can be reprogrammed.
- Live by the acronym “NOPE” – Not One Puff Ever.
- If you’re starting out, remember you CAN do it.
- Make peace with your smoker self. Don’t look back, look forward and celebrate freedom.
- Choose freedom. (This is the statement every video in the CBQ program ends with, because freedom is a choice, and as Deborah said, it’s the best life ever.)

Inspiring Milestone
Yesterday, CBQ Program member Sandy Haines from Texas, US, celebrated 3 years of freedom! Sandy used to smoke 1-2 packs every day for 49 years, and she wanted to share with you what helped the most on her journey and how she smoked her last cigarette.
In her own words, “My Freedom date was February 25, 2022. I am over-the-moon happy. I am still in awe that I was able to do this.”
“I had started to cut down and was smoking only 5 cigarettes per day for about a week and a half before I discovered the CBQ program. But it was all willpower and very difficult. I didn’t know how I was going to do it! I have just retired, so I have very little distraction.”
Sandy knew that joining the CBQ Program was the right step for her.
“I was frustrated that all the doctors say “quit smoking” but offer no help or suggestions. I am very impressed with this program and very grateful I discovered it. I love the wealth of information, the videos, the cigarette log, the Facebook group and everything about the program.
I had my last cigarette in the evening on my front porch, playing Taylor Swift’s “We are never ever getting back together”, I read my break-up letter to my girlfriend from dance class, we both cried and she filmed the event. I gave her all my cigarettes, lighters, and ashtrays to take home with her, and that was that. I was scared and nervous to go through the next day, but it ended up being fine just like Nasia said and I WAS happy! Who would have thought, right?”
3 years later, Sandy is still a happy non-smoker!
