CBQ Spotlights

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [April 8, 2026]

Happy “Spotlight Wednesday”!

Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Let’s dive in!

Inspiring Milestone

Today, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Evelyn Neiman Green from North Carolina, US, is celebrating 7 years smoke-free! Evelyn was a smoker for 40 years. Her husband also smoked.

As Evelyn told me herself, she had tried to quit before using nicotine patches and e-cigarettes, but she always went back to smoking. Her husband went from smoking to vaping and still does both.

That’s how Evelyn knew she needed something different: a process. She joined the CBQ Program, did every step of the process, and broke free from nicotine even though her husband smokes.

7 years later, Evelyn is doing so well that she even forgot how long she’d been a non-smoker! Since quitting smoking, she has also changed her eating habits and has improved her life in every way! Incredible story!

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Amber Morton Lyon from Connecticut, US, celebrated 4 years smoke-free!

Amber was a smoker for a decade before finally deciding to quit so she could have a baby. While looking for ways to quit, she came across the CBQ Program and decided to join, but still believed that she couldn’t do it.

Despite her doubts, she committed to the program and followed every step. She succeeded!

4 years later, she’s still a happy non-smoker… and a mom!

This is what she shared recently:

Inspiring Milestone – Vape-free

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Angela Ernst Lyon from California, US, celebrated 2 years vape-free!

Angela used to smoke for 16 years before switching to vaping and tried different ways to quit, but nothing worked. She knew how vaping was holding her back, so she kept searching until she found the CBQ Program.

After joining the CBQ Program, she committed. And after just one day in the program, she knew, it would be different.

In her own words, “Remarkably, after just one day with the program, I felt a profound shift in my perspective; I knew this was the solution I had been searching for.”

After Day 10 of the program, she quit!

And now, 2 years after her quit date, Angela is still vape-free!

Inspiring Journey

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Francine Doyon from Ontario, Canada, celebrated 7 years smoke-free! A lifelong smoker, Francine broke free after joining the CBQ Quit Smoking Program. She hasn’t smoked a cigarette since.

After 7 years, she’s still smoke-free and loving it.

Francine’s tip? Start small.

One of the exercises in the CBQ Quit Smoking Program is to delay the first cigarette of the day using mindpower, not willpower. That exercise was precisely what gave Francine the “aha” moment that she can succeed! And she did!

“The best thing I did was delaying the first cig of the day. It helped my mind realize that I could abstain from smoking for 8+ hours. Eventually I made it to lunch, then after dinner and then just before bed. Eventually i felt so sick having just a few drags it was easy to just go for the full 24 hours and I never looked back.”

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Dan DeVeronica from New York, US, who has been smoke-free for over 4 years!

Dan’s tip: Do it for yourself.

This is what he recently shared:

“I quit with this program but I had to do it for me. I had to realize that smoking… it didnt destress me, it didnt help me feel better, it didnt do anything for me except aid in my own personal quest for destruction. I had to realize that every single thing that urged me to smoke wanted me dead. Once I accepted that truth, with the help of the program, it was easy. I don’t want to destroy myself for anything. Not a stressful coworker, a crappy job, money issues, nothing. I want to live and fix the problems that caused me to smoke, not exacerbate my issues with a quick release that will only compound other problems that I wouldn’t have had if I never started.”
