Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Rick Fukuda from Ontario, Canada, celebrated 6 years smoke-free!

Rick smoked 20 cigarettes a day for 44 years. For a long time, he thought that it would require a miracle to stop smoking.

One day, he came across the CBQ Program and decided to join. After following all the steps in the program, he quit!

On his 5-year milestone, he shared he has zero interest in going back.

Inspiring Quit Smoking Tips

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Program member Marina McClay from California, US, who quit smoking 2 years ago, on April 1, 2024!

This is Marina’s advice and the biggest aha moments she got from the CBQ Program:

“I am 63 and started smoking at 13. I quit on April 1, 2024. The CBQ program taught me that I can re-wire my brain, that I can separate my identity from my behaviors and that I have the capacity to rid myself of the mental addiction I once believed would be with me forever. I learned that I smoked to fill basic emotional needs, like variety or connection, which then trigger craving thoughts. I learned how to approach craving thoughts with mindfulness rather than battling them with willpower. This experience has also taught me to be open to learning new skills and to seek help when I can’t do it alone.”

Another tip of the week comes from CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Tanya Morgan from Colorado, US, who celebrated 4 years smoke-free this week!

Her tip: Get familiar with the tools in the program.

“Smoking is an abusive relationship. The cigarette lures you in with promises of feeling better, when of course it only makes you feel worse. Have some tools ready that will actually make you feel better or more in control. This might include meditation, exercise, journaling or self help programs. Also, get familiar with the tools in this program, try them all until you find one that works.”

Inspiring Journey

This week, CBQ Program member Anthony Epping from Iowa, US celebrated 4 years smoke-free! Up until 4 years ago, Anthony never thought he could quit because he had tried everything. In his search for new quit-smoking solutions, he came across CBQ. In his own words, “I did the webinar and understood the concepts being used and debated if I could just do it on my own. I decided to purchase and glad I did. I do not think I could have done it on my own. It was/is the exercises that brings those concepts home, plus this group is so supportive.”

Anthony went through the CBQ Program at his own pace and succeeded! He told our community that the “Program is worth every penny!”

In just 2 years after quitting, Anthony saved $4,723, and avoided 10,985 cigarettes and tens of thousands of toxins!

Inspiring Freedom

This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Karen Spinda from New Jersey, US celebrated 3 years smoke-free!

Karen’s biggest reason for smoking was routine. Like it’s true for many smokers, her life revolved around cigarettes.

But during the CBQ Program she gradually changed her relationship with smoking and started enjoying a new routine. A routine where she lived her life normally, without being triggered.

This is what Karen said in her own words:

“I’m establishing my new non smoker routine, replacing smoking thoughts with productive thoughts, and replacing cigarette breaks with either house cleaning chores, a quick solitary break in another room instead of going outside, and my favorite- staying engaged with my toddler when we’re playing instead of going out for a smoke.”

3 years later, Karen is still a happy non-smoker!

This week, CBQ Nicotine Freedom Program member Debbie Kowalyk from British Columbia, Canada, celebrated 5 years smoke-free!

Debbie tried to quit everything in the past, but nothing worked.

While she was looking for ways to quit, she found the CBQ Program and decided to join. She followed all the steps in the program, and she quit!

Now, 3 years after her quit date, Debbie is still a happy non-smoker!

This is what she shared recently:

“Great program for giving up smoking for life.”
