CBQ Spotlights

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [January 7, 2026]

Happy New Year and Happy “Spotlight Wednesday”! Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community.

It’s always hard to pick which of all the amazing stories to share with you every week (I wish I could share them all!), so I’m hand-picking the inspiring stories that speak to the fears or needs you bring to our attention each week.

Without further ado, let’s dive into this week’s spotlights!

Inspiring Journey

CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Tracy Van Dyke from Missouri, US celebrated 3 years smoke-free! Tracy quit smoking after 40 years and remained proudly smoke-free despite facing many challenges during his first smoke-free year, like losing his beloved mother.

Since becoming a non-smoker, Tracy breathes better, feels better, and has more stamina at 62 years young!

This is what Tracy shared about his 3-year milestone:

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip comes from CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Cari Lucas from West Virginia, US, who has been smoke-free since November 17, 2024!

Cari’s tip on the fear of failure:

“I was afraid if failure too. I’m sure many of us have tried many times to quit. I didn’t think I was ready either and set my quit date at 3 weeks out from the start of the program. I dud the program completely but slowly in order to delay as much as possible giving myself excuses. I did however finish in that 3 weeks, did all the exercises and recorded all my cigarettes for that amount of time. I am no w a happy nonsmoker after 40 years. Don’t let the fear hold you back from obtaining freedom.”
