CBQ Spotlights

Celebrating YOU: This week’s spotlights [February 18, 2026]

Happy “Spotlight Wednesday”! Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community. A big thank you to our members for sharing their stories.

Inspiring Success

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Neil Elavsky from Minnesota, US celebrated 2 years smoke-free! Neil smoked for 40 years before deciding to “break up” with smoking for good!

After going through the CBQ Quit Smoking Program, he quit smoking for good, a moment that marked the beginning of a completely new chapter in his life. Since then, he re-did the program and successfully let go of other addictions, and he’s taking care of his health!

His advice is “don’t overthink it!”

Inspiring Milestone

This week, CBQ Quit Smoking Program member Mal Collins from England, UK, celebrated 4 years smoke-free! Mal smoked her first cigarette at 15 and continued smoking until she was 54. She had quit in the past using nicotine patches but still missed cigarettes and eventually relapsed.

Following that attempt, Mal shared she “made many half-hearted attempts to quit but never succeeded. Until I found this program.”

At first, Mal doubted she would succeed, which caused her to pause and restart the program 3 times. “I did wonder if I was destined to be in the small percentage of those who don’t manage to quit with the CBQ, but I have.”

When she completed the program, she found quitting smoking easy!

Now, four years after her quit date, Mal is still a happy non-smoker! (Her family is still surprised she actually quit.)

For her four-year milestone, Mal re-shared with our members-only group the video of the ritual from her last cigarette!

Now she feels she’s always been a non-smoker!
