Happy “Spotlight Wednesday”
Today, I’m excited to share with you some of this week’s most inspiring success stories and tips from the CBQ community. And there are so many!
Inspiring Success
This week, CBQ Program member Martina Bionda from Queensland, Australia celebrated 1 year smoke-free! Martina smoked for 25 years then switched to vaping for 10 years. She never tried to quit before because she thought it was impossible.
But then, she found the CBQ Quit Smoking Program, did every step, and she succeeded!
This is Martina’s 1-year update that she shared with our members community:
“1 year smoke free! WOW! I feel so good! Can’t believe it has already been a year!
I had a crazy year, and even craziest week (still ongoing).
Let’s start with the year. I have been living in Australia for the last decade, but I am originally from Eastern Europe. Smoking there is so normalised, you don’t even think of it as something bad that you should stop doing. So, this year, I went back home to visit family, first time as a non smoker. Everyone around me smoked! Friends, family, neighbours, people on the street, people in cafes… I mean… Wow. And no, I wasn’t tempted I didn’t smoke anything. I just knitted away. I was so afraid of this moment, and wow, that’s when I really knew that this is it, there are no worse conditions for a temptation to occur than this, and nothing happened. Instead, I waved my hand a lot, signalising people I don’t like their smoke in my face, ha! That’s so funny, because not long ago I was the one sending smoke in other people’s faces, and trust me, it’s more fun to be on the other side
I’ve been to Italy too, a pleasure trip where me and my family ate like there’s no tomorrow. Italians are very liberal around smoking, and many of them looked like they’re really enjoying it. But I knew better. Been there, done that
Also, earlier in the year, there was a cyclone here in Australia, it was very stressful thing to live through (nothing much bad happened, but it was scary in the moment while we anticipated the worse), and yeah, I didn’t feel like smoking then either.
And this week! We had the storm of the century (it felt like it), three days without power, internet and hot water, nothing working, at night absolute darkness, no sounds (fridge, generators, pumps… I mean NOTHING, it was so spooky), worrying where we’ll get the food, I mean… the works. I never thought of smoking.
Long story short: I remember this date because it was the date I stopped smoking. On other days, normal days, I don’t even think about smoking. I’ve learned so many ways to deal with stress, I never even think of smoking as an option. I am so grateful for this program, I would’ve never been able to come to this point without it. It’s all in your head, in the mindset, that’s where the problem occurs, and that’s where it needs to be solved. Once you do, and once you find other ways to cope, the addiction goes away. Yes, it’s as simple as that. Thank you Nasia!”

Inspiring Journey
This week, CBQ Program member Shelton Mulkey from Louisiana, US celebrated 1 year smoke-free. Shelton smoked a pack a day for more than 40 years and tried everything to quit — from Chantix and patches to gum and lozenges—but nothing worked. He had come to believe it was impossible to ever quit smoking.
That changed when he came across the CBQ Method. Despite being skeptical at first that he could be successful, he decided to invest in himself and join the CBQ Quit Smoking Program.
He completed the process and smoked his last cigarette on December 3, 2024! 🎉
Now, a year later, Shelton says he can’t even picture himself smoking again. How amazing is that?!
This is what Shelton shared about his journey:
“I was where you are right now. I had tried everything, I didn’t think it was possible to ever quit. Follow the program. You can smoke while you do it. When your quit day comes, you will be surprised how ready you are to quit.Trust the program and the advice of the CBQ Staff. The program works. You can do it. I know it.”

Inspiring Milestone
This week, CBQ Program member Linda Edlund from Pennsylvania, US, celebrated 2 years smoke-free!
In her own words, Linda shared, “The program is amazing and it DOES work! I smoked for 50 years before finding the CBQ Method. My top tip is to believe that this WILL WORK for you – never doubt that. Next, DO ALL of the exercises and watch every video – repeat a day if you need to (progress, not perfection!). It’s a lot of work – DO IT!! Everything in the program is designed to get you to your goal of being a happy non-smoker. The freedom is worth it – YES, YOU CAN!”
This is what Linda said in our program group:
“Nasia Davos Thank you! Couldn’t have done it without you and the CBQ Method!! Also love the encouragement from this group”
